'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date Rumors: Rockstar Working On Independent Project

Rumor has it that Rockstar Games is currently working on 'Red Dead Redemption 2' which is projected to be released in the Fall of 2015. Speculation arose when a Rockstar Senior Graphics Engineer hinted the development team is working on a new title.

The most recent title in the franchise was released in 2010 as 'Red Dead Redemption', and turned out to be highly successful. Rumors say that Doron Feinstein of Rockstar Games, who's the creator of the 'Max Payne' series, hinted that a 'Red Dead Redemption' sequel is in the works.

However, the reports about a sequel remain speculative as Rockstar has not officially announced a new addition to the popular videogame series as of yet. A recent press release concerning the matter read, "We don't always rush to make sequels but that does not mean that we won't get back to them eventually. Stay tuned for further announcements about the future of the Red Dead series."

Feinstein did not specifically name the 'Red Dead' series as the title the developers were working with. The Senior Graphics Engineer only mentioned that Rockstar was working on a sequel of a popular independent project of theirs.

This means that the new game could be the sequel for 'Red Dead Redemption' or a sequel to 'Bully' or 'Manhunt', two other Rockstar franchises which gamers are still hoping to see on store shelves again. However, many reports speculate that a sequel to 'Bully or 'Manhunt' will only happen after 'Red Dead Redemption 2' comes out.

Even though the news about a sequel is not confirmed, fans still remain hopeful that it's on its way. If the recent rumors turn out to be true, then 'Red Dead Redemption 2' will release in November 2015 for Xbox One and Playstation 4.
