'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date News: Game Arrives Next Year; Apparently Featuring Multiplayer In 'Red Dead Online'

Rockstar Games' "Red Dead Redemption 2" has finally gotten a release date for the fall of 2017.

The video game is set to arrive in the fall of 2017, Wired has learned. As per the publication, the game is set to reach PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but not Microsoft Windows. In addition, the studio has reportedly announced that players would be able to see the game trailer on Oct. 20, 11:00 a.m.

On Oct. 18, Rockstar tweeted a photo of the game, with its game title. In caption, it wrote "Red Dead Redemption 2 Coming Fall 2017." According to the studio's official website, players are set to witness an "epic tale of life" in America's unforgiving heartland, adding that the game's vast and atmospheric world will also set up the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.

Reports say that the game's online website is apparently registered to Take-Two Interactive Software. According to IGN, while the registration for the domain name redirects to Rockstar Games' home page. However, a search shows that the said domain is registered to Take-Two. In addition, the registrar is listed as Enom and not Rockstar website's registrar, Mark Monitor.

In addition, the upcoming game is set to feature a pivotal online element, dubbed "Red Dead Online."

Also, the forthcoming game could in fact be a prequel, Polygon reports. According to the publication, two of the seven silhouettes in the game poster are speculated to be John Marston and Bill Williamson from "Red Dead Redemption." However, Rockstar has not yet given a confirmation on the rumor.

Published by Rockstar, "Red Dead Redemption" was initially released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010. "Red Dead Redemption 2" is slated for a release date in the fall of 2017.
