Despite coming off a comfortable 3-0 win against Eibar over the weekend, Real Madrid are facing a tough challenge Tuesday when they visit Vicente Calderon to face a team they have yet to beat this season, Atletico Madrid.

In six matches against the colchoneros, Real Madrid have managed a paltry 0-2-4 record, which included a 4-0 beat down the last time they played on their neighbor's pitch. But if you were to believe Los Blancos' right back Alvaro Arbeloa, who assisted on a goal against Eibar Saturday, Real Madrid thinks it can win when it matters.

"There's a lot of hope and motivation among the squad. We know we have not beat [Atletico] this year, but we believe we know why that is," Arbeloa said after Saturday's match. "There are good players on the bench who can change the game, and on top of that we have the return leg at the Bernabeu."

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has said that he has made up his mind on what lineup and strategy he is going to use for the first leg, and with Pepe being at close to full strength, expect Ancelotti's favorite starting 11 to do their best in getting their first win against Atletico.

SB Nation's managing Madrid opines that Tuesday's match will be a tough and hard fought game, which could result in a stream of yellow cards that could end up biting the teams for the second leg. Ansaldi, Gabi, Jesus Gamez, Mario Suarez, and Fernando Torres of Atletico Madrid are al a booking away from suspension; while the same is true for Coentrao, Marcelo, and Kroos of Real Madrid.

While stats and recent history should be left out the window for Tuesday's clash, it should be noted that Atletico are unbeaten in their last eight games all competitions, and have not allowed a goal in six of those eight games. Real, for their part, have only one of their last seven games against a Spanish team in Europe.
