Real Madrid Transfer Rumors, News: Manchester United Keeper Gareth Bale to Join UEFA Champions?
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti openly expressed his satisfaction with his first-team back in December, and as such, told ESPN that the chances are low that the Spanish football giant will be looking to complete any major deals during the January transfer window.
But of course, when you're one of the biggest sports franchises in the world, rumors will continually swirl around you and your actions.
Recently, the focus has centered on Welsh midfielder Gareth Bale, after a series of incidents led to the Bernabeu faithful to express their discontent with his play.
Bale, who has 34 goals and 24 assists in 69 appearances with Madrid, is going through a tough stretch presently, but if he has one thing that's going for him, it's that he has the backing of the perhaps the most important person in the club"”Cristiano Ronaldo.
The newly crowned Ballon d'Or winner reacted angrily at Bale when the Welshman opted to shoot instead of passing to him during last Saturday's game. He has moved on since then commenting on the jeers Bale received after the play, "Madrid fans are always the same. They are very intense. They show what they feel. They don't lie, but I think things with "Gaz' are normal, because they know he's a very important player for us, a key player."
"Sometimes I make mistakes too. It's part of the business and part of football. I think people will be nice with him, and they should be nice," Ronaldo said after winning his third Ballon d'Or.
Samuel Marsden of Bleacher Report opines that the European champions should set their sights on Manchester United keeper David de Gea, who has been one of the best keepers in Europe this season.
De Gea is in the last 18 months of his current deal, and United have not tied down the Atletico Madrid transfer just yet. He also shares the same agent with Ronaldo, Bale, and Luis Suarez.
With Iker Casillas, 34, having his best days behind him, United should hear from Madrid about de Gea soon.
