'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Teresa Giudice News: RHONJ Star Explains Prison Release Plans

Teresa Giudice, star of Real Housewives of New Jersey is serving a 15 month sentence in federal prison for fraud. Her sentence began on January 5th, and she and her husband, Joe Giudice were both sentenced in October 2014.

The judge overseeing their case agreed to allow the couple to stagger their time in prison, as they have four young children.

Since Teresa entered prison, almost 5 months ago, there have been rumors about Teresa's release. Now her lawyer is making a statement on her behalf and clarifying exactly when she will be released from prison and what will happen when she gets home.

In a statement to People magazine, Giudice's lawyer said that he was able to get an earlier release date for Teresa several months ago.

He also said that the rumors that her husband met with authorities and she lost her chances of early release are not true. She will be released from prison on December 23rd.

"That means Teresa will leave the prison on December 23 and go home and sleep in her own bed," said Giudice's lawyer. "Two days later she will wake up and celebrate Christmas with Joe and her girls."

Upon her release, Teresa will remain under house arrest until her sentence is complete in February 2016.

After she is released, Joe will begin serving his 41 month sentence. Joe is said to be in negotiation for a reality show of his own while he waits for his time in prison.

The show would focus on his life now that he is parenting his daughters alone while his wife is in prison.
