'Real Housewives of New Jersey' News: Teresa Giudice Begins Prison Stint

After months of enjoying the company of her family, 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Teresa Giudice was escorted to the Danbury Federal Correctional Institution around 3 am on January 5th to start her prison sentence.

Her attorney, James J. Leonard Jr, accompanied her on the way, as well as a horde of cameras. However, Joe Giudice and their children were not seen with Teresa that morning.

Giudice acted strong and composed herself well despite the stressful media attention. Before she went to prison, the reality television celebrity started her day by grabbing breakfast at a diner near Danbury and talking with her lawyer. According to James Leonard, the star was "very anxious to get this thing started and very anxious to get it behind her."

The young mother may have been acting strong for the sake of her family. Reportedly, Teresa's eldest daughter has been fighting through some stress of her own. On January 3rd, 13-year-old Gia tweeted about not being able to sleep because she had too much on her mind. Teresa has been doing as much as possible over the holiday season to help her children prepare for the ordeal.

"In all of my discussions with her, her singular focus has been on four children," Leonard commented, "She's never talked about what is this gonna be like for me. Always her concern is with her children, not with herself."

In her final days before prison, Teresa had been spotted vacationing with her family and supporting her children. Last Sunday, the RHONJ star attended Sunday mass with her family for one last time this year.
