'Real Housewives of New Jersey' News, Cast News: Teresa Giudice Prison Sentence Shortened?
It had been reported that Teresa Giudice of 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' was going to be released early from the Danbury Federal Correction Institute in Connecticut. However, sources now claim that Giudice will be required to complete the original terms of her sentence, which is fifteen months in prison.
Giudice is set to be released from prison on April 5, 2016. She was admitted into the correction facility on January 5th, 2016, after pleading guilty to fraud.
The Bravo television D-lister was sentenced on counts of bank, mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud, along with her husband, Joe Giudice. The 'Real Housewife' was accustomed to living the ultra-luxe life, as seen on the reality show, but now she will have to make do with less elegant living arrangements.
Teresa and Joe will be serving consecutive, rather than concurrent, sentences. The couple have four daughters together, and a judge confirmed that Joe is permitted to serve his sentence once Teresa has been released. The decision comes in defense of the children's safety and stability.
Teresa will be visited by her daughters and husband this coming weekend, on January 10th. It is sure to be an emotional reunion for the family, and visits will most likely be limited to weekends, as her daughters have a school schedule to stick to during the week. Once Joe Giudice begins his jail sentence, he will fulfill his time, which totals forty-one months.
Sources were stating earlier that Teresa was being granted a shortened release date from the prison. It was believed she would get out of jail on February 5th, 2016, thirteen months after entering. The claim was based on the fact that the Federal Bureau of Prison's database, which records the sentences of inmates, displayed Teresa's prison term as thirteen, not fifteen, months.
