'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Amber Marchese News: Reality Star Diagnosed with Breast Cancer
Amber Marchese, one of the stars of Real Housewives of New Jersey, says that she is ready to fight breast cancer, and win.
The star of the Bravo television series was in remission for over five years, but recently revealed to E! News that she is battling the disease again.
In her statement to E! News, she said "I'm going to handle this with grace, positivity, and faith. I don't know why this is happening to me, but it is. So I have to turn it into an opportunity to raise awareness. Some good has to come from this.
Her husband, Jim Marchese, shared that Amber had a surgery to remove a lump in her breast less than two weeks ago. At the time, it was not confirmed that her cancer had returned, but since then doctors have verified that this is the case.
Amber had her surgery on the 20th and three days later, she received the dreaded call from her doctor, saying that it was in fact cancer. She says that she was shocked, wishing it was a joke, but knowing that it was not.
She also said that it took her some time to prepare herself to talk about the situation.
Currently, she has resolved that she has no choice but to move forward, and do so by figuring out the best way to overcome her diagnosis.
On the 18th of May, Amber, 37 years old, will undergo another mastectomy. After that surgery, she will begin radiation therapy. She says that she will use the love of her family, her faith and the support of her co stars to get through this hard time.
