'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Yolanda Foster Update: Reality Star's Struggle with Lyme Disease
Successful actress Yolanda Foster from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills series was diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012, and her life has never been the same, since.
At only 51-years-old, the dangerous disease has taken away Foster's ability to read, write, and process information the same way. Although Foster is battling the disease the best she can, things are not looking up for her after three years of infection.
Foster began writing a blog that detailed her struggles with the disease, and the heartfelt posts are enough to bring fans to tears. Recently, the celebrity had to stop writing because the Lyme Disease took away her ability to create blog posts "in an intelligent matter at this time."
"I have lost the ability to read, write, or even watch TV, because I can't process information or any stimulation for that matter," Foster explained. These are normal effects of Lyme disease, according to Web MD. Along with brain problems, Lyme disease has the potential to cause heart and nerve problems, as well as arthritis.
So far, the reality TV star has been focusing on the effects of Lyme disease on her brain, which is a growing concern to her. "It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it," Foster wrote.
Yolanda has not been able to cure her illness, but has made it her goal to improve Lyme Disease research for the rest of her time. "I will make it my life mission to figure this out, because nobody deserves to suffer this way in 2015."
