Porsha Williams Arrested for Speeding, and Driving With Suspended License

Porsha Williams, a 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' reality TV star, was arrested last Monday for speeding while driving with a suspended license.

The celebrity was going 78mph in a 55mph zone in Atlanta, and since she was already driving on a suspended license, she was promptly arrested. The police escorted Williams to a jail cell where she posted $1,726 bond to be released.

On TMZ, Williams is shown in her mug-shot smiling and make-up free.

According to Williams' statement to the press, she was speeding down the highway for good reason. Her grandfather is ill with cancer in the hospital, and she was rushing to see him when she was arrested. "I tried to explain the situation to the officer and show him that all my paperwork was in order," the 33-year-old television star stated, "But he refused. Handcuffs are not comfortable or a good look for anyone."

Even though Williams disagreed with being arrested due to the extreme circumstance, she realized her speeding could potentially have put citizens at risk. Graciously, Williams apologized to the public: "I was wrong for speeding absolutely and apologize for putting anyone at risk."

On that note, this is not the 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star's first run-in with the law. In April, Williams was taken in by authorities for attacking her co-star. The fight occurred during a filming of the show's reunion show. She received a simple misdemeanor battery charge, and was released from jail after posting a $2,000 bond.

However. luck does not seem to be on Porsha's side, as she has been demoted from a full focus role in the seventh season of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta'.
