'Real Housewives of Atlanta' News, Rumors: Phaedra Parks Talks Divorce from Apollo Nida

Three months ago, "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Phaedra Parks announced that she was going to divorce her husband and convicted felon Apollo Nida. In the March 22 episode, Parks discussed her decision while the rest of the ladies attended a group counseling session.

Nida was sentenced to eight years in a Kentucky prison for fraud. Before service his time, Nida was caught on "RHOA" cameras always fighting with Parks and acting erratically.

Parks shed many tears in the episode saying that she felt like a failure when it came to being a wife. "I said I would support him through the criminal trouble. I should have probably left then."

Meeting with Ronnie Kaplan, her mentor and fellow attorney, Parks went on to discuss her decisions. Kaplan told Parks that if she wants to go through with the divorce, she needs to take the necessary steps. He also pointed out that her two sons should see their dad. Parks wasn't too keen on the idea, but decided it would be best for the boys.

"I thought he was a changed man," Phaedra tells Ronnie, "I married him because I knew that he loved me. Some people do change their lives and make a difference...maybe he was conning me the whole time."

Despite the conversation, Parks decided that she would take the process slowly. Parks said that this divorce would be "a death of a relationship."

Meanwhile the rest of the Atlanta wives, minus NeNe Leaks, went to a counseling session with Dr. Jeff to discuss past issues that have driven the group apart. Many apologies were said and accepted. Many viewers feel that their relationship is on the mend.

The "Real Housewives of Atlanta" airs on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
