'Real Housewives of Atlanta' News, Recap: Phaedra Parks Tightens Security, Claudia & Kandi Unite

The ladies of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' were showcased in a fiery episode on Sunday which marked Season 7's ninth episode, which was entitled "50 Shades of Shade."

Stepping into a brief recap of what happened, fans and viewers alike will recall some interesting developments in the lives of their favorite housewives.

Cynthia Bailey's dream to start her own business is broken when the location-to-be ends up looking like a gross garbage dump. Peter and Cynthia end up moving their precious "Bar One," but their business hasn't taken off yet. The determined businesswoman promises that she's at least getting one thing right: her marriage. Against all odds, Cynthia attests, that Peter and she have stood through it all.

Claudia Jordan joins Kandi Burruss as a guest on Kandi Koated Knights, and the two are remarkably drama-less as they gossip about their mutual friend, Porsha, and her mystery lover.

Speaking of drama, NeNe can't survive without her career in drama. When her agent calls to offer her three Broadway roles, the reality television star is torn. NeNe knows that she has the acting ability to play Mary J. Blige in 'Rock of Ages', but her manager isn't so sure. Instead, he urges her to try for the Wicked Stepmother in 'Cinderella' instead.

Beyond that, Phaedra Parks decides to install a security fortress because she is worried that her husband, Apollo, might show up at her home. Lo and behold, Apollo shows up while Phaedra is in the midst of implementing her new security plan. Phaedra is tired of Apollo's dangerous habits, and she worries that his issues may ruin her hard-earned reputation.

Later in the episode, Phaedra earns a legal excellence award, runs Phunerals by Phaedra like a dream, and shows her fans that you don't need a man to be successful.

The next episode of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' airs January 11 on Bravo.
