'Real Housewives of New Jersey' News: Teresa Giudice Finally Set for Prison

It's a new year and a new challenge for 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Teresa Giudice as she reported to the Danbury prison in Connecticut yesterday. The reality star has already shown her obedience for being on time, even earlier than her call time.

Giudice, who previously pleaded guilty for tax fraud and was sentence to 15 months of imprisonment, arrived at the facility one hour ahead of her 3:00 am scheduled time. Several news reports speculate that Giudice was anxious to get her transition into prison over with.

In a statement, her lawyer, James J. Leonard Jr. said "I think she was anxious to get in, get this thing started, get it behind her, and get back to her family," he told ABC, "Her four girls are her primary focus," he added.

It would be a tough time for the family since after Giudice completes her sentence, it would be her husband who's next to be imprisoned for 41 months. Apparently the two were allowed to serve their sentence separately so one parent can attend to their children's needs.

The 42-year-old mother to four daughters seemed to be well supported. Her eldest daughter Gia, who's 13-years-old posted on Twitter showing support for her family. "Support system is unreal," she tweeted, adding the hashtag "#soblessed," she wrote.

Meanwhile Leonard also released a statement saying that Giudice was ready for the sentence. "She was ready," Leonard explained adding, "Teresa is a very strong woman. She won't have any problems in there."

Leonard also said that Giudice was well prepared before entering prison as she corresponded well with recently released female prisoners from the Federal Correctional Institution, according to Leonard, Giudice was told to be "friendly but guarded" inside. "They told her to keep her head up, that she would make it through," Leonard added.
