Rapper KB Says 'Tomorrow We Live' was Inspired by African 'Motherland'; Album Focuses on Emotions of a Day [VIDEO INTERVIEW]
Reach Records emcee KB is gearing up to release upcoming album Tomorrow We Live on April 21, and he stopped by BREATHEcast to chat a bit about the album.
KB said he, "Pulled inspiration from the motherland"¦South Africa" after taking a trip there. "We breathed in the inspiration and I discovered my direction and burdens."
This trip also marked the direction and sound to the album he stated. However, he was quick to note that as a Floridian, he likes "to get ignorant" in the car blasting music, meaning there will be some trap music.
KB said the album is a story that goes through the emotions of the day. It starts at 7 a.m. and lets people wonder what morning music sounds like or what kind of music plays while eating lunch, going to work, etc. This journey continues on into the next morning and completes the day.
The rapper said he feels this is the best music he has made and knows God is going to do big things with it. "I feel content that I have did something I know the Lord is honored with and I'm proud of as far as my art is concerned."
The preorder is now available as well as a download of new single "Crowns & Thorns (Oceans)."
The album can be purchased on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play, and when fans pre-order the album, they will receive an immediate download of "Sideways feat. Lecrae" and his brand new second single "Crowns & Thorns (Oceans)".
KB previewed the album to lucky fans in Houston, TX, who were able to listen to the album in its entirety for the first time over the weekend. Fans gathered together on the Houston Baptist University campus last Saturday, where the rapper opened up about the personal songs that stemmed from his own life.
KB's first two singles "Sideways feat. Lecrae" and "Crowns & Thorns (Oceans)" are currently making their way to DJs' playlists around the country. They were produced by team 'Cobra' and written by Kevin Burgess, Lecrae Moore, Jamal James, Chris Mackey and Joseph Prielozny, "Sideways feat. Lecrae" and "Crowns & Thorns (Oceans)."
