Rapper Chinx Death News: Member of French Montana’s Record Label Killed in Drive by Shooting

It has been confirmed by E! News that rapper Chinx, who was born Lionel Pickens, died as a result of a drive by shooting in Queens, New York, on Sunday morning at 31 years of age.

The New York Police Department reports that officers responded to a 911 call that reported a man having been shot on the corner of Queens Boulevard and 84th Drive at around 4:00 am.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they saw two victims in a Porsche with gunshot wounds. Pickens was identified as one of the victims, and had been driving.

He was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, and was taken immediately to Jamaica Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The second victim was a 27 year old unidentified male, who had gunshot wounds to the back, and was also transported to Jamaica Medical Center. He is currently in critical condition.

The New York Police Department has stated that there have been no arrests at this time and that the investigation to find the perpetrator continues.

Chinx, who is a member of French Montana's record label shared that he would be appearing at a club on Saturday night in Brooklyn on his Instagram page.

He was known for his songs "Feelings" and "Bodies".

Several celebrities from the hip hop community, as well as people who were friends with the rapper paid their respects to him through social media.

Some celebrities who spoke out about his death included Rob and Khloe Kardashian, Meek Mill, Sway Calloway, Talib Kweli, DJ Khaled, Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa, and Joe Budden.
