Recording artist Aaron Cole on Friday released his latest single, "Off My Back," accompanied by a new music video. In the music video directed by Will Thomas, Cole addresses several social issues he believes relevant not only to himself but to many others.

"This 'Off My Back' video is really important to me," Cole says. "I rarely talk about racial issues or politics but please believe I'm woke [sic] and very aware."

"This world is in a crazy place right now and on top of that I'm going through a lot of stuff in my personal life and I'm sure a lot of you guys can relate," he continues. "Stay up family. God, please get all this weight 'Off Our Backs.'"

In another post on social media on Saturday, Cole also took a few moments to explain the story behind the song as he explained the meaning of the single's cover art.

"So I don't know if you guys peeped all the lil' things in the 'Off My Back' cover art, but let me explain," Cole begins. "First, if you looking [sic] closely this is me standing in the trenches looking up to the heavens (which is what the whole song is about)."

"Second, a lot of people asked me 'why the number 14,' and it's because it took 14 years for me to sign my record deal with Gotee Records," he explains. "Third, if you look above 'Cole' it is the Virginia Boy symbol which I told y'all means coming from nothing to something."

Debuting on Gotee Records last year with the single "Right On Time," Cole has been honing his craft over the last several years, resulting in his latest offerings. "Right On Time" became the No. 1 most added track of the week upon release, and debuted at No. 27 at Christian Hot AC radio.
