Rap Mogul Suge Knight News: Co-Founder Of Death Row Records Arrested Under Suspicion of Homicide

Former rap mogul Suge Knight has recently been accused of a hit and run murder in Compton on Thursday afternoon.

Knight's defense attorney, James Blatt has claimed two men were "attempting to drag him (Suge Knight) outside of the vehicle when he made an effort to escape ... in fear for his life."

Witnesses claim to have seen Knight in a heated argument with two men before running over them repeatedly with his truck. Police arrested Knight on Friday morning under suspicion of murder.

"The confrontation began about 3 p.m. Thursday when Knight and two unidentified men began arguing on the set of "Straight Outta Compton," a biopic about the group N.W.A., said Lt. John Corina of the Sheriff's Department's detectives unit," writes LA Times.

"About 20 minutes after the argument, the victims were at Tam's Burgers near Central and East Rosecrans avenues, authorities said. Knight is believed to have followed the men in his truck and run them over in the parking lot, Corina said."

One victim, age 55 is reported dead while another, age 51, suffers from undisclosed injuries.

"I am positive Mr. Knight will be exonerated," Blatt states, "Investigators are still interviewing witnesses and still need to see video of the incident."

The news shocks fans as Knight has been in frequent run-ins with the law dating back to the '90s, with cases such as the infamous Tupac Shakur homicide.

"In 1996, Knight was at the wheel of a BMW in Las Vegas when passenger and popular rapper Tupac Shakur was shot by gunmen in another vehicle. Shakur died a week later, and the case has not been solved," writes LA Times.

Knight is currently being held at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department West Hollywood station in lieu of $2-million bail.
