'Rainbow Six Siege' News: New Patch Will Be Kind To Two Characters, But Not To Team Killers?

Ubisoft has released a new patch for "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Seige" and it is set to empower two characters and punish team killers, in addition to fixing bugs and operators.

Ubisoft's patch for the game title is set to provide pivotal changes to characters Kapkan and Mute, PC Gamer has learned. As per the publication, trip wire expert Kapkan is no capable of placing his laser at any height on a window or doorway. This implies that the character is set to see more use after the patch, as compared before.

As per the patch notes, as cited by the publication, Kapkan's trip wire laser now had reduced intensity, making it harder to spot by attackers and was slightly less audible when deployed. Thus, defending characters are more likely to come closer to the character, without knowing that they are more vulnerable to laser attacks.

On the other hand, Mute's abilities have also improved with the help of the new patch. Known for his signal disruptor, it is revealed Mute is now capable of unleashing the signal beam for a much larger range, specifically from 1.5 meters to 2.25 meters. As per the patch notes, the range would let one jam larger areas around walls, including the reinforced ones. It is assumed that drones will have a hard time jumping through.

In other news, team killers are set to be punished with the new "Rainbow Six Siege" patch. According to Game Spot, players who kill their teammates characters repeatedly are subject to an array of penalties, which begin with temporary ranked matchmaking bans and progress to a possible permanent ban. As cited by the publication, team killers will be banned for as low as 15 minutes and 50 percent renown penalty for the first offense up to a seven-day ban for the fifth offense.

"Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" update was released on June 21. Other details about the patch can be viewed here
