Rumors that Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch are dating have been swirling around since earlier this month, and Entertainment Tonight spoke to McAdams directly to find out if the True Detective co stars are really in the midst of a true romance.

"It's funny the things the Internet likes to proclaim," said McAdams to Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazier at the Southpaw junket last week.

The actress stated that it is an odd experience for her to be dealing with stories that have to do with her love life, especially when the internet takes it out of proportion. The couple even has an couple name, "McKitsch!"

According to McAdams, however, a man and a woman being photographed together does not mean that they are a couple.

In June, when she and Kitsch were seen eating together at Osteria Mozza in West Hollywood, the rumor mill went overtime turning out speculations that they were more than just friends.

"[It's the] weird, weird, bizarre, surreal side of it but I guess you just have to laugh at it at a certain point," she said, not confirming or denying the rumors.

When it came to her possibly being in a relationship with Kitsch, however, McAdams did not give a straight answer. She and the actor have apparently been friends for years, however, she laughed at reports that they are definitely an item.

During the sit down portion of the interview, McAdams also talked about her role on True Detective, in which she plays Detective Antigone "Ani" Bezzerides and following the first season of the critically acclaimed event drama.
