New and exciting reports are claiming that Rachel Bilson and her longtime boyfriend Hayden Christensen have welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Briar Rose, into the world on Oct. 29.

The 'Hart of Dixie' actress and the 'Star Wars' actor, who first announced in May 2014 that they were expecting, welcomed the birth of their first child, Briar Rose Christensen, as reported by Bilson's representative on Thursday.

The representative also added that both Briar Rose and Rachel are healthy and doing well.

Reports surfaced in May that Bilson was expecting while she and Christensen were vacationing in Barbados in June.

The couple drew the inspiration for their daughter's name from a fairy tale story, 'Sleeping Beauty'.

Briar Rose was the original title of the Grimm Brothers' 'Sleeping Beauty' fairy tale story back in the 17^th century.

Aside from that, the name was also adapted in Disney's 'Sleeping Beauty' movie in 1959, when the fairy godmothers called Princess Aurora Briar Rose in order to prevent the evil fairy Maleficent from putting a curse on her.

Back in August, Bilson and Christensen, brought the good news to their family and some of Bilson's high school friends in a private home in Los Angeles.

An insider from Us Weekly reported that "Instead of gifts, everyone brought a birth bead. Each person gave her a piece of advice and a blessing along with the bead. She will use the beads for strength during labor."

The former 'O.C' star was vocal about wanting to start a family, telling Cosmopolitan in May 2013, "I definitely have family on the brain. Having kids is something I want to see in my future -- I hope."

Bilson, who showed off her baby bump in a vacation with Christensen in Barbados, was happy to be expecting a daughter. "She's so excited to be having a baby girl. She's wanted it for a long time and is going to be an amazing mom. Everyone is ecstatic for her," Daily Mail reported.

Christensen and Bilson met in 2007 while on the set of 'Jumper'. The couple got engaged in December 2008, but called it quits in August 2010, only to reconcile three months later.
