Snapdragon Wear 2100 News: Device Made For 'The Next-Gen Wearables,' More Battery, Power Efficient

Qualcomm is popular among leading technology companies and mobile device manufacturers for its line of high quality components. Most recently, the company is going to release the Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor which it dubbed as, "made for next gen wearables."

The product description was recently published on Qualcomm's official website. According to the company, the processor will be necessary for all smart wearables manufacturers requiring the most updated, high-tech set of features. The much-awaited product is said to be released in the second half of 2016. 

Digging deeper into the product features, the Snapdragon Wear 2100 is designed for people on the go with features that might want the consumers to avail. The company takes pride in describing the new Snapdragon 2100 processor.

The Snapdragon 2100 processor is 30 percent smaller than any wearable processors known in the past.

Dedicated to its purpose, it has an "integrated, ultra-low power sensor hub supports richer algorithms with greater accuracy, providing a cohesive picture of users and their environments." As a result, the processor conserves its power up to 25% depending on whether it is tethered or connected to WiFi or the Internet. 

Aside from the company's own product description, Pocket-Lint also reveals that LG Vice President David Yoon is excited about the latest Qualcomm gear.

"We are delighted about Qualcomm Technologies' next generation wearable plans, are planning to extend our collaboration with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, and look forward to launching new smartwatches and other wearable devices that bring new and innovative use cases to consumers later this year," Yoon said, speaking on behalf of his company's plans.
