PS4 Update 4.0 News & Update: Sony Starts To Send Out Beta Invitations

Sony is starting to send out invites for those enrolled in its beta for the PS4 4.0 update. They can just wait for the email that will detail how they can download and install the firmware, according to the latest news.

The announcement by Sony does not contain a lot of details regarding the PS4 4.0 update, but according to Game Rant, the new firmware will provide an improved new user interface, folders, updated menu as well as menu changes, and the ability to personalize their accounts.

In related news, Playstation blog John Kroller, VP for marketing, said that the share menu has also been overhauled for the PS4 4.0 update. Using this, you can save the last Facebook, Twitter or Instagram where you shared your video clips. This makes it easier to share it among your network. The clips uploaded to Twitter are now extended to 140 seconds from the previous 10 seconds.

He added that the new firmware gives the user the ability to create new folders in order to organize their games on the console. Using this folder, it's now easier to choose your games and apps because they are stored in one place.

"We're also making some pretty big changes to the Library. We've added a new tab called Purchased, which will show all of the content you own - games, applications, demos, and betas you've participated in," he said.

Again, the objective is to make it easier for you to find your favorite games and apps.

Watch out for more news and details on the PS4 4.0 update which will be published when they come along.
