PS4 Slim Rumors: Are The Leaked Images Real?
Allegedly leaked images on the PS4 Slim that found their way to Gumtree had people wondering whether it's a big ruse, or if they indeed confirm all the news and rumors surrounding the new console.
The leaked images were quickly taken down, but because this is the Internet, some websites screen-grabbed the posting and shared the pics on their own websites.
Gematsu said that the images do seem to confirm the rumors and news on the PS4 Slim about the console having a 500 GB storage. The poster on Gumtree even unboxed the console for prospective buyers to inspect.
The website also pointed to the Twitter post of @Shortman82 who took side-by-side photos of the PS4 Slim and a regular PS4 console.
Official news about the PS4 Slim was expected to have been shared by Sony during its PlayStation Meeting 2016 slated to take place in New York on Sept. 7. However, that event was officially about the upgraded PS4.
Wall Street Journal speculated in a news article that Sony would simultaneously launch the PS4 Slim and the upgraded PS4 during the same September event.
It seems the company is not divulging too much on this lighter and skinnier console as it drums up interest for the PS4 Neo. However, it's expected that the PS4 Slim will replace the original console, the manufacturing of which would then have been terminated.
Some other good news about the PS4 Slim is that it's less costly, at least not exceeding $350 in order to compete with the Xbox One S, which currently carries a price tag of $299 for its 500 GB storage capacity model.
