PS4 Neo Geo Games News: Sony Includes Classic Games Like ‘King Of Fighters ‘94,’ ‘Metal Slug’
Sony's PlayStation 4 is set to have Neo Geo support this year with classic games, as per reports.
Japanese publisher and porting studio Hamster Corporation confirmed that various classic Neo Geo games are set to head to the PlayStation 4, Digital Trends has learned. As per the publication, this is assumed to take place at the conclusion of 2016 as part of the Arcade Archive series.
According to Game Spot, the classic Neo Geo games include "The King of Fighters "94" and "Metal Slug." The former is an SNK combat game for the Neo Geo-based 1994 arcade system and the initial game in the "The King of Fighters" franchise. On the other hand, the latter is SNK's run and gun video game, which features a third-person shooter and a tower defense game.
In this regard, it is added that the Arcade Archive Neo Geo series will begin with "The King of Fighters "94" on Oct. 27. It is followed by "Metal Slug," "Samurai Shodown," "Alpha Mission II," "Fatal Fury," and "World Heroes" in the latter part of 2016. Then, more games like "Neo Turf Masters" and "NAM 1975" are set to be part of the series in the early part of 2017.
Hamster director Taeo Muto spoke his thoughts about the Neo Geo video game. As sited by WWG, Muto said that since its debut in 1990, the Neo Geo had "enthused" video game fans from around the glove with games that had been "bigger, badder, and better" than anything else in the arcade or at home.
"You've finally have perfect conversions of some of these legendary titles," Muto said.
"The King of Fighters "94" was initially released in 1994 while "Metal Slug" was first released in 1996.
