'Professor Layton' News: Level-5’s Puzzle Game Introduces Another Character [TRAILER]
Level-5's puzzle adventure game is set to introduce another character. This time, it's Lady Layton.
The new entry for Level-5's title is called "Lady Layton: The Conspiracy of King Millionaire Ariadne," Game Spot has learned. In line with this, it is revealed that the game's new hero is Catriel Layton, the daughter of Professor Hershel Layton.
According to Gematsu, Catriel is a jack-of-all-trades, mystery-solving detective and her cases are odd incidents that take place in London. These include looking for a person's missing pet cat and identifying and exposing a criminal in a murder case.
It is known that Prof. Hershel starred in the previous games in the series; however, fans and gamers have limited information about Catriel. Thus, her impact on the game story, other game characters, and overall gameplay are yet to be revealed.
In Level-5's trailer for "Professor Layton," several sequences from the game's predecessors are shown and they are followed by the new episodes of the game series. Fans see Catriel running at the bridge's sidewalk, along with her talking dog Sharo, who seems to be adventurous as the hero.
Along with Catriel and Sharo, fans are also set to meet Catriel's part-time helper Noah Montoir and genius analyst and Londor profiler Geraldine Lawyer, who is set to be Catriel's rival.
As a puzzle game, "Professor Layton's" trailer also unveiled various problems to solve and they included UFO checkers, bunny jumps, number bombing, and treasure chests, among others.
Developed by Level-5, "Professor Layton" will be playable on iOS and Android, in addition to the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS.
The title is set to be released in Japan and in the United States in 2017.
