Seven years since "Prison Break" season 4 dropped the curtain, the series is now set to return with an explosive revelation--Michael Scofield is alive.

Official spoilers for the upcoming installment reveal that Michael, the lead character who appeared to have died of electrocution in prison in the previous installment, is actually alive and is now a prisoner in Yemen. Season 4 will shed light on how Michael managed to stay alive after that incident.

Now that Michael is confirmed to be alive, fans are wondering how season 5 will handle that scene in the season 4 finale which made it appear as though the lead character had actually died. When asked on Twitter if it will be explained by a few words or interwoven in the season 5 storyline, one of the writers of the series said, "All I can say is that we didn't ignore it."

Since the announcement of a series renewal, FOX promised to provide a logical and believable explanation for the case of Michael.

Meanwhile, fans of the series are so excited for "Prison Break" season 5 that they are already expecting the announcement of a sixth season. In fact, one fan recently asked the writer of the series if season 5 will mark the beginning of more seasons to come. The writer responded that it will ultimately be up to FOX.

"If the ratings are amazing, that definitely enhances the chance of a return," he added.
