The recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con 2016 provided a first full glimpse of the upcoming reboot of "Prison Break," which is expected to return in early 2017 after seven years of going off air.

The teaser video for the upcoming series reveals that Scofield is alive, is just in prison and is need of help to break out again. It's a piece of good news for those who worry that the new season will stray from the story of the original series following Scofield's supposed death.

In the video, Michael is shown trying to come up with a plan to break out through a piece of chewing gum.

"I'm gonna show you just like the butterfly wings, this piece of gum is going to start a sequence of events that will finish on the other side of the world," he tells a fellow inmate.

While the producers of the series have yet to confirm when the series will exactly return to the small screen, fans expect that the series will return sometime in January 2017.

The cast and crew remain mum about the new season's storyline, but some nitty-gritty was revealed in the past couple of months as to its main character, including Michael's use of tattoos.

At the Comic-Con, actor Wentworth Miller revealed that the main character will be using tattoos again for his prison break.

"Michael will have a fresh set of tattoos but they won't work the same way they did the first time around," he said.

Meanwhile, fans have yet to know how the producers of the show will explain Michael's return following his death in the last season.
