‘Pretty Little Liars’ Christmas Special Spoilers, Release Date: Official Synopsis & New Teaser Photos

Producers for ABC Family's 'Pretty Little Liars' have announced the release date of its midseason winter premiere, released the official synopsis, and unveiled some spoiler photos ahead of the show's next episode.

ABC's teen drama mystery-thriller, 'Pretty Little Liars', is currently on hiatus for its mid-season, but the episode synopsis and some spoiler photos have been released ahead of the Christmas special, "How the 'A' Stole Christmas," which airs December 9.

The episode is set to take place a month after Mona's death, just in time for Christmas. The girls are still divided over trusting Alison Dilaurentis, while trying to find out how and why Mona was killed.

The full episode synopsis has been recently released by ABC:

"Christmas is quickly approaching, and all of Rosewood is full of merriment, except for Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer, who aren't feeling much holiday cheer after the loss of Mona and Spencer's murder charge looming over them. But when an opportunity presents itself with the chance to get evidence to clear Spencer's name, the girls and their partners devise a plan to get justice for Mona and finally bring Alison down. If the plan is successful, it could be a very Merry Christmas after all."

Adding, "Alison gets a glimpse at the past, present and future by a ghostly presence."

ABC also released a total of 59 teaser photos for its upcoming episode, wherein fans and viewers are teased with photos of the show's couples, as well as see the return of the late Mona Vanderwaal as she haunts Alison as the Ghost of Christmas Past/Present/Future.

"How the 'A' Stole Christmas," the thirteenth episode of its fifth season, is set to air on Dec. 9, 2014.

'Pretty Little Liars' stars Lucy Hale as Aria Montgomery, Ashley Benson as Hanna Marin, Shay Mitchell as Emily Fields, Sasha Pieterse as Alison DiLaurentis, Troian Bellisario as Spencer Hastings, Ian Harding as Ezra Fitz and more.

On that note, the show has been renewed for a sixth and a final seventh season, making it ABC's longest-running show.
