Premier League Transfer News: Manchester United Winger Angel Di Maria Fined

After Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria was fined by the club two weeks' wages (£360,000) for missing United's US tour, it's been reported that the Argentine would be making his way to French champions Paris Saint Germain.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague was one of the first ones to confirm the report. "The Di Maria deal to PSG was all done and dusted yesterday in Paris," he tweeted early Thursday.

"The di Maria deal agreed with PSG yesterday is for a €63m fee (£44.2m)," Balague added, which means that United will take a hit of £15 million as they bought Di Maria from Real Madrid last August for £59.7 million.

Express.co.uk reports that with a Di Maria deal in place with the French club, United are now looking to sign Barcelona's Pedro Rodriguez to replace the Argentine. The potential Rodriguez deal is expected to be worth £22 million.

Meanwhile, United's problems do not end there, as the Daily Mail reports that the club's decision to play hardball with keeper David de Gea over his desire to move to Real Madrid, has left the Spanish native distracted.

United has insisted that they will not accept cash from the Los Blancos for de Gea, while Real have returned the favor by refusing to do a trade for central defender Sergio Ramos.

The English club is also now reportedly in the chase for Everton defender John Stones, with a Mirror report saying that United are prepared to offer Jonny Evans along with cash to try and beat other Stones suitors Chelsea and Manchester City.

Chelsea already had two offers turned down in their pursuit, but reportedly remain confident that the 21-year-old is looking to move to Stamford Bridge. The first two offers were for £20 million, and £26 million, respectively.

Everton has maintained that they have no intention of selling their prized asset.
