'Preacher' Season 1 Episode 9 Spoilers: Jesse Set To Get Out Of His Own Trouble?

"Preacher" season 1 is about to come to a close, and Jesse has got to get out of the trouble he has created for himself.

The official synopsis on Comicbook reads, "Jesse is on the run, while those around him face life-altering decisions. Meanwhile, the Cowboy returns to Ratwater to exact his revenge."

Titled "Finish the Song," the penultimate episode will follow Jesse as he tries to escape the mess he got himself into. The upcoming episode may change the course of season 2 if Jesse finally identifies himself differently, or if one of the major characters dies.

The teaser video for the episode opens with Odin Quincannon saying that West Texas preacher Jesse Custer is going to condemn God in the open. The scene that follows shows Tulio O'Hare revealing that Jesse is actually a vampire.

DeBlanc and Fiore also express their intent to go farther south. The last part of the video shows Jesse hiding from something, though it is not clear where he is headed.

In another promo video, the two angels make a choice between going to heaven and going to hell.

The return of the Cowboy is also expected to alter the show's story arc.

In the previous episode, Jesse had to keep Odin Quinncannon from taking his church, which he believed was his. The episode saw Jesse experience some hallucinations which made him believe that he successfully got Eugene out of hell. He also decided to surrender Genesis to Fiore and DeBlanc, but the two angels did not keep their end of the bargain. This led Genesis to re-enter Jesse.

"Preacher" season 1, episode 9 airs on July 24 on AMC.
