'Preacher' New Series News: Seth Rogen Posts First Set Photo as Production Starts Filming
Seth Rogen celebrates the first day of production for his highly anticipated comic book adaptation series, 'Preacher,' by tweeting the first on set photo.
The series plans to air on AMC and will adapt the popular comic series from Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon.
Evan Goldberg will be directing the project alongside Rogen. Set to star is Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer. Most notable in his role as a young Howard Stark on 'Agent Carter.' He's also set to star in 2016's 'Warcraft' film.
Joseph Gilgun has been cast for the role of Cassidy, Ruth Negga will be portraying Tulip, and Ian Colletti will play Eugene Root.
Here's the show's full synopsis:
"Preacher follows Reverend Jesse Custer, a tough Texas preacher who has lost his faith, and has learned that God has left Heaven and abandoned his responsibilities. He finds himself the only person capable of tracking God down, demanding answers, and making him answer for his dereliction of duty. Accompanying Jesse on his journey is his former girlfriend and a friendly vampire who seems to prefer a pint in the pub to the blood of the innocent. On his tail is one of the most iconic bad guys in print - an immortal, unstoppable killing machine named the Saint of Killers -a western lone gunman archetype whose sole purpose is to hunt and kill Jesse."
With the show just starting its production, fans can expect to see this series air by early 2016.
