AMC's upcoming comic book adapted series 'Preacher' reaches some new heights with the announcement of English actor Joseph Gilgun portraying the Irish vampire Cassidy.

This would make all the lead characters of the show cast, although Dominic Cooper's role as Reverend Jesse Custer hasn't been fully confirmed. On that note, last week revealed Ruth Negga's role as Tulip and Ian Colletti to portray Arseface.

For those that may not know, the original comic series itself may be pretty dark, but Cassidy is said to be the comic relief.

"Jesse's sidekick Cassidy is described as the most wild-a**, bestest 'bro' you'd ever want to meet. He may be 100 years dead but no one's more boisterously alive than Proinsias Cassidy. An incorrigible mischief-maker, Cassidy's up for anything - joyriding, bungee-jumping, bank robbing, peyote dropping. He's also a relentless conversationalist with opinions on everything from religion to politics to pop culture to theories on why people are better able to tolerate the odor of their own flatulence," writes Deadline.

As it stands, 'Preacher' currently doesn't have a premiere date.
