Powerball Winning Numbers Latest News: No Winner Yet; Prize Rises To $1.3 Billion

Fans are delighted for the time being, since one has yet to win the Powerball jackpot.

All six Powerball numbers did not match any ticker, after the draw on Jan. 9, according to Fox News. The publication noted that as per the lottery officials, the record jackpot for the next draw rose from about $950 million to an exciting prize of $1.3 billion.

Revealed live earlier on television and the web, the winning numbers were 16-19-32-34-57, along with the Powerball number 13. While the first five can be in any order, all six numbers must be hit in order to win the prize.

According to Multi-State Lottery Association officials, who run the Powerball game, nearly three-fourth of the potential number combinations was expected to have been bought on the Jan. 9 draw.

Powerball sales was notably high on Jan. 9, possibly due to the high record jackpot. Bucky's gas station and convenience store manager Anndrea Smith told Fox News that she had already had spent more that she usually did on Powerball tickets. According to Smith, she had bought four on Jan. 9 and she usually never bought any.

Smith added that the store had also sold about $5,000 worth of tickets on Jan. 9 and also mentioned that they might have sold $1,200 worth on a Friday.

According to Texas Lottery, the Jackpot was a world record. On Jan. 9, it wrote on Twitter "No #Powerball jackpot winner. Wednesday's jackpot is a world record! #Texas #TexasLottery."

Texas Lottery executive director Gary Grief told ABC News that he was surprised to see the results of the Jan. 9 draw. Grief also that 25 players won a $1 million prize and three won a $2 million prize. He advised that if one did not play, he would not win.

For the time being, the ratio of getting the biggest lottery jackpot in the United States is reportedly one to 292.2 million.
