Power Rangers Movie Reboot Cast News, Rumors: Liam Neeson, Chloe Grace Moretz, Jack Gleeson
A new advertisement came from the Glasgow Company last week as they attempted to look for two new Power Rangers to complete the team for the upcoming film. The advertisement was posted on a Facebook via Glasgow's page and on the new movie's website. A full team is needed because Glasgow wants to produce a full movie as a reboot to the television series.
The post reads, "It's morphin' time! Gumtree advert calls for Glasgow Power Rangers."
The movie, titled the 'Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers', will explore the backgrounds of each of the Power Rangers and how the group of high school students got their super powers. The Power Rangers came out with its first movie, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie' in 1995, two years after the original hit television series.
Former executive producer Roberto Orci told Collider Magazine that the upcoming Power Rangers reboot would be a "continuity" of the old series. Roberto was rumored to be in charge of the project, but he dropped out before he could finish the film. Roberto is known for his production of the 'Transformers', 'Star Trek', and the 'Amazing Spider Man' movies.
So who makes up the new cast members for the Power Rangers movie reboot?
According to MTV News, there are current negotiations with Liam Neeson, Chloe Grace Moretz, Liam Hemsworth and Jack Gleeson.
Although we do not know for sure which role Liam Hemsworth and Jack Gleeson will fulfill, Chloe Graze Moretz has reportedly been added to the cast as the pink ranger. Liam Neeson will play Zordan, the Power Rangers mentor throughout the film.
The most exciting cast rumor is the potential for Meryl Streep to play the Power Rangers villain, Rita Repulsa.
