The release date for the limited edition Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 is expected to be announced in Europe next month, but owning one would be a luxury considering the price tag.

The smart phone comes in graphite black with Edge technology. The words "Porsche Design" is emblazoned on the front, just so people are not mistaken about what kind of Mate 9 the owner is carrying.

The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 will carry a price tag of around $1,544 on its release date, which would be quite expensive considering that you can't expand the internal memory. This lack of feature is a head-scratcher, considering that the regular Mate 9 has that option.

But then, as with all luxury brands, sometimes you are paying for the name. consider the Tag Heuer Carrera smart watch for example, it's not actually that it performs better than any other Android wearable out there, but why does it cost four times as much?
