Poptropica is an online community that shares a likeness to Disney's Club Penguin and National Geographic's Animal Jam. Poptropica is a role-playing game that is owned by Pearson PLC, a publishing and education company. The game was authored by Jeff Kinney, the creator of the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book series.

The game is aimed at kids that are age 6 to 15. Here, players can compete, interact, and travel with each other through the game's many virtual islands. On these islands, the players would play games and quests which they will aim to complete.

The players are represented by avatars which they will create upon entering the game, and will have the option to customize at the beginning or as they progress through the game. Items are needed to customize an avatar and those are acquired through purchases with in-game credits or through codes.

Much like Club Penguin and Animal Jam, promo codes last until the end of the month while some items can be found within the game itself.

To claim promo codes, go to the Poptropica Store section of the game and click the "Promo Code" button on the top right corner. Once the code is entered, the item will be redeemed. Note that codes only work once per player.

The code SKULLBOOK grants the player a Skull Pirate costume. DRHARE10000 gives a Dr. Hare Light and Shadow costumes.

Another way to get items in the game is through Easter Eggs. No doubt, some players with sharp eyes would have spotted some of these Easter eggs already.

One such Easter Egg will be located at the Poptropica Towers on Early Poptropica Island. Players will need to go left until they encounter a green building, where they need to jump to the fourth floor of the building and click on the middle window pane with the flower pot. The Hypnotic costume can be found there.
