'Pokken Tournament' DLC News: Still No Plans Yet From Nintendo After Feb Announcement
Last month, Nintendo has announced that there are no plans for a "Pokken Tournament" DLC. Unfortunately, recent updates are pointing towards Nintendo not backtracking from that statement.
To date, there are 16 Pokemon characters that can be played in "Pokken Tournament." Judging from the large Pokemon universe, fans naturally want more characters that can be downloaded through the DLC.
"On the bright side, it has been confirmed that Cubone, Diglett, Magneton, Quagsire, Espeon, and Umbreon have all been added to Pokken Tournament as assist creatures," said Game Rant.
"That presumably takes them out if the running for playable positions, which some may deem as a shame in the wake of such additions as Chandelure," it added.
But fans should not be fully disappointed about Nintendo's statement on having no plans to release "Pokken Tournament" DLC.
In turns out that Nintendo is balking at the potential backlash of cutting out characters just to sell them later at DLC.
"Super Smash Bros." designer Masahiro Sakurai told Video Gamer that creating characters in any game takes a lot of time and investment even if he understands that a DLC will create a lot of appeal for the game.
"In light of this, we always need to weigh up both sides of this topic and carefully consider whether it really is best to have DLC or not," he said. "Creating DLC would involve large additional costs and require the involvement of a lot of people."
His statement seems to suggest that a "Pokken Tournament" DLC is not totally out of the question if there's a huge demand from fans.
