Pokémon Company International has recently announced a new character in the Pokémon video game series. The Vocanion is now officially part of the National Pokédex.

This is a comprehensive list of different Pokémon characters and their various evolutions. The new character is a Mythical Pokémon and it is the first of its kind.

As a first of its kind, the new Pokémon character has the dual traits of Fire and Water Pokémon. This duality is very unique because the two types are contradictory.

A fire Pokémon is weak against a water Pokémon. Traditionally, each Pokémon character can only be classified into one specific type and each has its own weakness.

Other types include psychic, dragon, ice, bug and dark. The arrangement of weaknesses is analogous to a rock, paper scissor game. It is more circular than hierarchical.

Hence, the new type of Pokémon is really unique. It is a league of its own.

As a dual-type Pokémon, Vocanion uses both water and fire as weapons. These create steam within its body.

As a result, it could produce explosive shock waves and steam that spew from its arms and back. According to the company's official description, this power is sufficiently strong to blow away an entire mountain, thereby violently changing the landscape.

If the past releases of Pokémon should serve as basis, this new character could be released as part of multi-generation of characters that will be revealed in multiple distribution events. This is the most probable scenario since Volcanion cannot be encountered in normal gameplay mode.
