'Pokemon Go' Release Date, News Update: Fans Wondering Why GDC Session with Niantic Cancelled
Some disappointing turn of event have just happen regarding the release date of "Pokemon Go." The released date is still not confirmed up to today and the event that was speculated to hold its world-wide launch has just been cancelled.
According to Ecumenical News, the GDC session which was speculated to be on March 14, was supposed to be all about the upcoming Pokemon feature. There was even an announcement from its site saying:
"Niantic's newest game, 'Pokemon GO,' ups the challenge of real world gaming design, taking a beloved franchise and setting its hundreds of brightly-colored monsters loose across the globe, adding a new Bluetooth wearable device created by Nintendo to the mix." (via Ecumenical News)
The reason for the cancellation of the event was not disclosed to the public. Niantic founder and CEO John Hanke was about to be in the middle of the discussion before the whole thing got pulled out.
With that cancelled, things for the upcoming game just became a bit blurry. We still know that the game will be released some time this year but it's just that there are huge fans who don't want to be kept in the dark regarding this.
Pokémon GO is an up and coming augmented-reality game for mobile phones and tablets developed by Niantic, Inc. The game is scheduled to be released for iOS and Android some time in 2016 as part of the 20th year Anniversary of Pokemon. The game is said to be released along with Pokemon Go Plus and will need Bluetooth connection for them to be notified if any Pokemons are around.
The game will be "free-to-play," although it will as well support purchases that will be made inside the app itself.
