'Pokemon GO' Release Date: Early Gameplay Reactions And News; Preview Roundup
After the beta test invitations have been sent out, players have gotten their hands on the "Pokemon GO" and experienced all the changes in the game. Early gameplay reactions and news hint of the ability to personalize the avatar, and the lack of ability to battle wild Pokemon.
Wild pokemons can still be captured, however, using the pokeball. Also, you need to join a team, either Red, Blue and Yellow in any Gym; while the battles are drastically different, where during battles you can actually see the POV of the pokemon, at least according to the early gameplay reactions on the "Pokemon GO."
News that's filtering in revealed that it's much more difficult to capture pokemons now. It requires a lot of training, skill and knowledge of the abilities of each creature.
However, US Gamer cautioned that despite the early game play reactions and news, the beta version of "Pokemon GO" just proves that it's still a long way from being released.
For instance, the beta version of the game experienced some technical glitches, which can be expected because that's what betas are for. "But it also indicates a worldwide launch is still far away," it said, adding that the makers of Pokemon would want to "get everything right the first time."
Second, the use of StreetPass for the game may have its drawbacks when brought to North America, for example, with its endless mountain ranges and wide fields. So in a sense, "Pokemon GO" is better suited in an environment like Japan where the land, sea and urban landscapes converge seamlessly. (Although it does encourage users to bring along their Nintendo 3DS anywhere because a pokemon may be nearby.)
For now, however, everybody should take these news with a grain of salt since the "Pokemon GO" can still be updated from the gameplay trailer up to the final release.
