PlayStation VR Release Date, News: Cinematic Experience With Tracking System?
New details on Sony's forthcoming PlayStation VR have surfaced and according to reports, the console is set to provide a theater-like experience with its screen sizes and tracking system.
According to the Japanese PlayStation Blog, as cited by PlayStation Lifestyle, it was detailed that the forthcoming console is set to have three screen size alternatives - small, medium, and large.
As per the publication, the small and the medium screens are set to place users within a dark virtual space that provides them a good viewing field. On the other hand, fans can expect a larger field of view with a 226-inch screen.
According to Sony's CEO, as cited by Tech Advisor, the PlayStation VR is set to have impressive specifications, which include a 5.7-inch 1920 by 1080 full, high-definition OLED display; this suggests 960 by 1080 per eye. In addition, its high-definition display is joined by 100-degree viewing field, as well as an 18ms response time.
Aside from the high-quality images, the PlaysStation VR is also set to showcase built-in accelerometers and LED side lights, which can detect movement when the device is connected to a PlayStation camera. As per the tech giant, the camera can track the VR's headset up to a thousand times per second; thus, it is assumed to provide its users a sophisticated digital experience.
It is further revealed that the PlayStation VR allows its users to watch films and series like Netflix's in it. Hence, it is assumed that early users of the upcoming platform will have sufficient time to explore and engage with it while more films, shows, and games are being developed.
Sony's PlayStation VR is set to be released on Oct. 13.
