PlayStation Plus News: Subscribers Can Vote For Games They Want for Free via 'Vote to Play'
PlayStation has added a new voting mechanism that would enable PlayStation Plus subscribers to vote on the precise games they want for free. Sony has already added this new voting means that has been dubbed as "Vote to Play."
According to Christian Today, the "Vote to Play" initiative works quite simply.
It process involves PlayStation Plus members choosing from a list of games that may possibly be released by Sony as free games through the service the members are subscribed to. According to the official PlayStation blog, the particular game receiving maximum number of votes at the end of the polling will be incorporated in future listings of free games that will be due out via the PlayStation Plus service.
As all the titles that PlayStation Plus members vote on will win the polls, Sony has decided to offer a consolation prize for those games that finish up close to the top but eventually do not get the first place. Sony has announced that the games that will also receive lots of votes will be offered at discount when they may be released. However, Sony has not specified the precise size of a discount they will be offering for the titles that will not finish up winning "Vote to Play."
Meanwhile, a recent leak allegedly related to the "Vote to Play" initiative also offered PlayStation Plus subscribers an idea of what the mechanic itself may appear to be.
According to Polygon, this leak comprises three titles that members can supposedly vote for. These titles are 'Armello,' 'Grow Home,' and 'Zombie Vikings.' Sorry to say, it is still not known if the three titles that were shown in the leak signify some of the first games that would be incorporated as part of the "Vote to Play" initiative, or they have just been used as visual illustrations for how the voting may possibly look like.
Meanwhile, Sony has assured to reveal further details regarding the "Vote to Play" in the near future.
