Sony has recently celebrated its 20^th anniversary of their flagship gaming platform, PlayStation, in a very special way. The company commemorated the first ever PlayStation console they released in December 3, 1994, with a brand new limited grey version of the PS4 to celebrate its two whole decades on the market.

"We sincerely thank you for joining us on our exciting 20-year journey. You have made every bump and scrape we took along the way worthwhile. And there's so much more to come!" Sony wrote in its recent company blog post last December 3.

The company which will soon release the new grey limited edition PS3 have also announced its price for the consumers. "Sporting the same 'Original Grey' finish as the original PlayStation and packaged in a commemorative box, PlayStation 4 20^th Anniversary Edition will be priced at €499 and limited to 12,300 units worldwide, reflecting the launch date of the original PlayStation," Sony continued.

It is still unknown when the product will be officially up for grabs, but the company announced that it would soon give out all the details for the limited edition of the PS4. "Look out for more information soon on how you can get your hands on one of these highly collectable consoles," the company added.

Apparently, it is not only the PS4 itself that has the grey coloring, but also the controllers and different accessories for the product will be grey as well. The product will be available in all the retail channels in the SCEE region.

The upcoming anniversary edition product is highly anticipated especially since the previous Sony PlayStation 4 was successful even outselling the rival Xbox One. It will just be a matter of time before Sony releases the details on how to get a hold of what seemed to be another amazing product.

The consumers apparently will be offered discounts as the company continues to entice the people for its 20^th anniversary on the market.
