Fans of 'Pitch Perfect' can stay tuned for the sequel, which will hit theaters on May 15, 2015. In the countdown to the movie release date, rumors about the plot and the cast have been making the rounds on the Internet.

According to sources, Barden Bellas will pit their rivalry against Pentatonix, evidently the plot is aimed at Acapella supremacy. Pentatonix is a real Acapella group who shot into the limelight when they won the NBC run show 'The Sing Off' in 2011. To win the reality show they sang "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor in the finals.

The group has not revealed much due to a non-disclosure clause, but has hinted that the Barden Bellas will go up against them in the movie.

In a discussion with Yahoo! the director of the movie, Elizabeth Banks, has revealed that most of the original cast of 'Pitch Perfect' will return to the sequel. What is interesting is the fact that in movie sequel the Barden Bellas will be singing against three real Acapella groups: Pentatonix, Filharmonic and Penn Masala.

Since Acapella groups are known for their own singing and dancing, Elizabeth has stressed that the movie is based on Acapella authenticity and she wants to honor that. She further elaborated on the plot saying the Bellas are sort of finishing college and in the process they must leave home.

She said that they must support each other as friends and figure out what they want to do once they leave college and step into the real world.
