'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' Plot: Will Turner Returns in Upcoming Movie; New Villain Captain Salazar’s Photo Leaked

The cast and crew of the fifth installment of the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise sub-titled 'Dead Men Tell No Tales' are currently busy with the production work in Hamilton Island, Australia. A recently leaked photograph from the sets of the film offers the fans a glimpse of the actor Javier Bardem in the role of the new villain, Captain Salazar.

Citing a report in the Daily Mail, Christian Today states that the photograph was shot in the midst of shooting. It shows Bardem sitting down with his co-actors and conversing something. The actor's face is seen covered in make-up to make him look like a grey, undead pirate with cracks evident on his cheeks.

However, what is important is the green screen tracking dots placed in the region of his face's borders. This clearly indicates that some CGI work will be done on him, something similar to how Bill Nighy's Davey Jones was done in the previous 'Pirates of the Caribbean' films.

In the movie, Captain Salazar has been described as a pirate whose ship and crew were shut in the Devil's Triangle alias the Bermuda Triangle. Once he is free, Captain Salazar and his eerie crew try to kill all pirates on Earth. In fact, this, to some extent, explains the grey, undead look of the character. In order to stop him from achieving his goal, it is necessary for Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) to acquire the power of the Trident of Poseidon.

Fans of 'Pirates of the Caribbean' will also see Orlando Bloom returning to 'Dead Men Tell No Tales' as William Turner - the character was last seen in the third film, 'At World's End,' wherein he assumed the post of the new captain of the Flying Dutchman following Davey Jones' defeat. As Captain Salazar is a dead pirate technically, it will be Will's responsibility to ferry him over to the after life.

Meanwhile, VC Post reported that there are rumors that actor Brenton Thwaites will also be on board as Henry Turner, the son of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann's (Keira Knightley). Although the production is yet to confirm his appearance in the upcoming movie, he is listed on the IMDB page as just Henry.

'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' will hit theaters on July 7, 2017.
