'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' Cast, Production News: Depp Returns to Film for 'Dead Men Tell No Tales' Post Injury
There is no need to worry anymore as the award-winning star of 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' Johnny Depp is back filming the fifth installment of the film after his short hiatus post injury in Australia. Film's producer Jerry Bruckheimer just recently took to his social media to post a photo of Depp on set.
Depp, who plays the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow in the film, was seen all tied up on what seem to be a post on a ship wearing his messy pirate costume all furnished with his long hair, beard and his heavy dark eye liner.
Bruckheimer took a snapshot of the scene where Captain Jack Sparrow seemed to be worried about his current situation as he is surrounded by pirates guarding him. "Captain Jack is back and we're not letting him go," Bruckheimer wrote as a caption on Instagram giving an update that Depp has finally recovered from his hand injury which required him to fly back to the U.S. for surgery.
At the time of the injury the film's officials made sure that the film was shot continuously despite the absence of their main character releasing a statement saying, "They've tried to keep it going in his absence-it's not like a Fast and Furious situation, where the star [Paul Walker] has died-but they've reached the pinch point," Mal Tulloch, director of entertainment crew and sport for the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance, told The Sydney Morning Herald at the time.
And so with Depp being back in the picture, the scheduled July 7, 2017 premiere of the anticipated film might not suffer any delays. The film is produced by Bruckheimer and written by Jeff Nathanson with the executive producers Chad Oman, Joe Caracciolo, Jr. and Brigham Taylor.
On a side note, Depp has been recently seen walking hand in hand with his wife Amber Heard in Brisbane.
