'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' Cast News: Actress Kaya Scodelario to Star in Upcoming Franchise Film
At first there were three: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, and At World's End. This trilogy featured the making of Elizabeth and Will, a tragically romantic couple fans fell in love with. But beyond Liz and Will, it was Captain Jack Sparrow who led the Pirates of the Caribbean into their fourth and fifth films.
Now, fans of the mysterious, unethical pirates are desperate to know more about the fifth installment, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales.
According to Deadline, Kaya Scodelario could be the new Keira Knightley. British actress Kaya, known for her role in Skins and The Maze Runner, is currently in negotiations to become the leading lady for the new Pirates Sequel. It will be a busy year for Scodelario, especially as she will be busy taking on the starring role in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. The sequel is shooting later this year.
If Kaya joins the series, this will be her first time on the films. We're excited to see how this brilliant young star will handle the eccentricities of Johnny Depp and the rest of the Pirates of the Caribbean crew. And just in case you weren't sure, yes, our favorite Captain Jack Sparrow will be back to (drunkenly) save the day.
Even better than that, Javier bardem, Geoffrey Rush, and Orlando Bloom will be making their grand return to the films. Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg will be directing the sequel, as they have with all of the other films.
'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' has been tentatively set to premiere in 2017.
