'Person of Interest' Season 5 Premiere, Air Date: Final Season Will End With No Cliffhangers?

"Person of Interest" is set to conclude with its season 5 without cliffhangers, according to the latest news.

Series executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman confirmed that fans are set to see "Patient of Interest" for the last time in its fifth season. In their interview with IGN, they said that they were extremely excited to be able to share the final season with the fans, adding that they were eternally grateful to their amazing cast and crew, as well as their partners at the studio and the network.

The showrunners also expressed their gratitude to the show's fans, whom they called as the "best fans in the world." They dedicate the "subversive little paranoia-inducing cyberpunk-thriller" series to the fans, adding that it would not have been feasible without their support. They also mentioned that it had been their great privilege to work on show for the previous five seasons and they could not wait for fans to witness the exciting and last chapter.

According to TV, CBS previously announced that "Person of Interest" would be airing two episodes on May 9 at 10p.m. As per the publication, the original plan was better that airing a single episode and it would potentially hype and tease fans for a sixth season. The network also clarified before that the finale on June 21 was the season 5 finale and not the series finale. However, things have changed for the time being.

In January 2015, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams also told IGN that he guessed that season 5 was "Point of Interest's" final season. He mentioned that the only heartbreak there was how much good story there had been to come it it had been to have continued. Abrams added that Jonah Nolan and Greg Plageman had done an amazing job on the show.

According to TV, "Point of Interest" season 5 has no cliffhangers; thus, it would leave the series close-ended.
