"Person of Interest" season 5 may just be one of the most thrilling seasons of the CBS series as it is set to delve into the romance between Root and Sameen.

Based on an article published on Inquisitr, the upcoming season will see The Machine's creator Harold Finch and John Reese go on a mission together with the rest of "Team Machine" to put a stop to the Samaritan, although The Machine itself will not be of assistance to them this time.

While it has not been revealed yet how long they will be together, it has been confirmed that the widely talked about romantic relationship of Root and Sameen will be the highlight of the season.

Romance between the two characters was hinted at during the abduction of Sameen by Decima Technologies, wherein Root never stopped searching for her despite discouragement from the team. His desperate attempts to rescue Sameen from Decima Technologies showed how much love he has for her.

In season 5, Team Machine will put a stop to Decima Technologies as it tries to rule the world through controlling Samaritan.  Finch urges the team to act fast because he fears that Samaritan will wreak massive devastation once Decima Technologies loses control of it.

In other news, producers of "Person of Interest" recently confirmed that the crime drama TV series will no longer be renewed after season 5, citing low ratings in the last few years as the major reason for non-renewal.

"Person of Interest" season 5 premieres on May 3 on CBS and will include 13 episodes.
