People's Choice Awards 2015 News, Recap: Winners List - 'Big Bang Theory', Betty White, & More
This year's People's Choice Awards, held on January 7th 2015, saw multiple-award winners, as well as some touching moments, and of course, there were the obligatory quirky quips and humor.
The first awards show of the new year was hosted by Anna Faris and Allison Janney, co-stars on the show 'Mom'. The People's Choice Awards celebrates fans' favorites in television, movies, and music.
Among the big winners was 'The Big Bang Theory'. The sitcom won the award for Favorite Television Show as well as Favorite Comedic Television Actress, which went to Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting. Cuoco also held the honor of presenting the award for Favorite Comedic Movie Actress, which went to Melissa McCarthy for 'Tammy'.
Other winners in television included Betty White, who achieved the honor of Favorite Television Icon. The 93-year-old actress extended a genuine thank-you and was respectfully escorted on and off the stage by fellow celebrities Chris Evans and Ellen Degeneres. Degeneres was the winner of the Favorite Daytime Television Host, while Evans took home the award for Favorite Action Movie Actor.
The Favorite Movie award went to 'Maleficent', which also won for Favorite Family Movie. '22 Jump Street' won for Favorite Comedic Movie, while 'Divergent' was awarded Favorite Action Movie. Shailene Woodley and Theo James took home the award for Favorite Movie Duo for their work in 'Divergent'.
On the music scene, Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off," won Favorite Song, while the singer was awarded
Favorite Pop Artist. Maroon 5 was presented with Favorite Group, while the Favorite Male & Female Artists were Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift, respectfully.
